Something About the Rains

There’s something about this rain
It brings back my innocence
And those memories of past
A life that I wish to live again

There’s something about this rain
Plays a beautifully crafted game
And just when you lose yourself
It goes back to playing truant again

There’s something about this rain
Amid the incessant sound of drops
And the rising chaos and cacophony
Plays a sweet lullaby as the hearts swell

There’s something about this rain
I try to embrace it, in vain
And, While it washes my tears away
I surrender my soul to its hallowed reign
