I Once Travelled Home Alone

I once travelled home alone
Along the flow of a river
Over the bridge of stone
I caught
A glimpse of flowing sliver

Spellbound I was
By the river’s flow
And the song at the inlets
When the sun in its evening glow
Turned the city into silhouettes

But alas!
I crossed the bridge
I no longer could hear that song
And the sliver embraced the ridge
While the river sang all along

I travelled ahead all alone
And lost the sight of sliver
And though I miss that bridge of stone
I have with me
The song of flowing river
